THANE: Former BJP Diva unit president Rohidas Munde has alleged his party to be working under the influence of the Shiv Sena, at the local level while blaming few prominent leaders from the ally party to have orchestrated his untimely replacement.Rohidas Munde who was recently replaced by Sachin Bhoir as the Diva president within a year of holding the post told the media that he was replaced allegedly at the behest of a local ally party leader who was upset by the continued BJP protests against poor infrastructure in the suburb.The allegations come close on the heels of BJP leaders from Kalyan speaking about the domination of Shiv Sena leaders in their fiefdom at a recent meeting.I have been spearheading several protests against the poor facilities in the suburb. Starting from the water supply to illegal constructions to poor transportation and bad roads, the suburb has turned into a mess, Munde said.I have only done my work of highlighting the plight of local residents. Incidentally, they (Sena) have been ruling here for the last several decades, he added.Munde has now taken to social media trying to divert attention of deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis and state party chief Chandrashekhar Bawankule raising questions how local Sena leaders were informed about his imminent removal much before he was officially informed by his party.Newly anointed district president Sanjay Waghule dismissed the allegations saying that the BJP is in a formidable position in Thane and elsewhere due to its strong grass root connection. A senior party functionary added that the party replaces office bearers for others to get opportunity. If anyone has any issues, they should approach the party and not the media, he said.It may be noted that Diva with eight seats is a crucial ward now and is the dominion of the Shinde Sena. Shiv Sena MLA Pratap Sarnaik has written to the chief minister requesting the development of a helipad in the city to cater to political functions, emergency situations, and air ambulance operations. Currently, Thane has only two privately owned helipads, and the proposed helipad near Yeour could replace the Raymond helipad, which may be dismantled for real estate development.
