Thane: Watchman, his wife decamp with valuables worth Rs 36 lakh

KALYAN: A watchman and his wife along with two others, stole valuables worth Rs 36 lakh from a builders flat in Kalyan on Friday. The builder and his family had gone to play garba when the duo and their associates entered the house and stole the valuables. The accused watchman and his wife are from Nepal. The family later informed the Mahatma Phule police about the incident.The incident took place at night between 8 pm to 10.30 pm at Uma Darshan cooperative housing society situated at Chikanghar area where Navin Nakrani (42), who is a developer by profession, stays on the first floor.The police during the enquiry found out that the watchman, Gagan Bahadur (48), employed at building for last four years and his wife, Suman Bahadur (46), were missing. The police later checked the CCTV footage and found that both of them along with two others were involved in the crime. Police suspects that the accused have fled to their village in Nepal.
