Thane: A drunk auto driver, 32, has been arrested for allegedly stabbing a man to death after the victim refused to give him money to drink more alcohol.The police said that the accused has been identified as Sunny Baid, while the victim has been identified as Vijay Chohan 29, both are residents of Bhayapada of Ram Nagar in Wagle Estate area. The police said that the incident occurred at around 1 am on Sunday. Chohan went out of his house to answer natures call, where Baid waylaid him and was already drunk. He wanted to drink more but was out of money, so he asked Chohan for drinks, said Kiran Kabadi, the senior inspector of Shrinagar police station.But the deceased then flatly refused, and this triggered a verbal spat between the accused and the victim and both of them hurled abuses at each other. Furious by the victims refusal, the accused whipped out a knife and stabbed him in the stomach multiple times till he fell down in a pool of blood near a nullah, the police said. Hearing the commotion, some of the locals rushed to the spot and some of them even chased the accused and pinned him down. Simultaneously, the police were alerted who rushed to the scene and arrested the accused, added the officer.
