MUMBAI: A 31-year-old woman from Mira Road was stabbed to death allegedly by her nephew in her home on Monday. The accused who also assaulted the aunts 10-year-old son was arrested from Bhayander.The incident took place at around 2 pm on Monday when Jeeshan Khan (20) forcibly entered the flat of his aunt Shabnam Khan in Queens Avenue building. The two got into an argument, following which Shabnam ran towards the bathroom to save herself. Jeeshan followed her with a knife and stabbed her multiple times in the abdomen.Shabnams son who was also in the house was also targeted by Jeeshan, who stayed in the adjacent building with his family. As Shabnam and her son had raised an alarm, Jeeshan fled from the spot after inflicting minor injuries to Shabnams son. Neighbors rushed Shabnam to the hospital where she was declared dead. The Navghar police formed teams and Jeeshan was nabbed within an hour from Bhayander (west).A case of murder has been registered against Jeeshan. Police said the motive behind the brutal killing is under investigation. Police suspect it to be a family dispute over property. Jeeshans father is the elder brother of Shabnams husband. The autopsy report is awaited. Jeeshan has been remanded to police custody and the weapon is still to be seized.
