KALYAN: A man, along with his friend, has been arrested for kidnaping his mother-in-law after she did not allow him to take his six-year-old son home. The accused, a resident of Airoli in Navi Mumbai, after kidnapping the woman took her in a car to his house where he allegedly assaulted her and then called up his wife and asked her to return his son, if she wanted her mother to be safe.The arrested accused have been identified as Bhavesh Madhavi and Suraj Mahatre. Police said Madhavi, his wife Dikshita and son live in Taloja. Police said that the couple were locked in a domestic disupte so Dikshita, along with her son, went to her mothers house in Kalyan. Police said Madhavi had asked his wife to return home but since she refused, he told her to at least send their son home. According to police, Madhavi, along with Mahatre, on Tuesday visited her mother-in- laws house to take his wife and son home but since they were not in the house at that time, Madhavi asked his mother-in-law if she had sold his child. He took her in the car, saying he was taking her to a police station in Thane, police said. Gyanoba Suryawanshi, assistant police inspector of Manpada police station, said the woman was rescued after her daughter approached them after receiving threats from her husband.
