2 employees of transport co booked for theft of goods

Thane: Two employees of a Malad-based movers and packers company have been booked for driving away with household goods that were to be transported to Noida from Thane in June. The police said that the complainants colleague who works with an IT company residing in Manpada, Thane and was transferred to Noida. Hence, they decided to relocate the household items and scouted a movers and packers company to shift the goods.They came across the accuseds company booked their services. According to their deal a sum of Rs 15, 000 was paid. They promised that the goods will be transported in a maximum of five days on the given address, said the police.Accordingly, they left the apartment after packing the goods and started their journey, but later became incommunicado. The articles included electronic gadgets, as well as household furniture, etc which was roughly estimated to be around Rs 2 lakh, the police said. Despite several attempts to contact them over several days, the transporter did not respond at all, the police stated.After realising that they had been duped, they approached the police and registered a case at Chitalsar police station under cheating and criminal breach of trust of the Indian penal code.
