Thane: The residents of Ghodbunder road complexes and parts of Thane city are once again complaining of water scarcity right after the monsoon.Residents claim that they are forced to endure inadequate water supply and to either rely on costly tanker water or packaged drinking water .Our society barely gets adequate water supply and the intermittent snag in the network further aggravates the problems leaving us without proper supply for the next two days at least.The tanker water supply is also erratic and costly. At times there have been complaints of possible contamination in tanker water which forces many to switch to bottled drinking water, complained a resident of theGB road complex.The issue was also recently highlighted by BJP MLA Sanjay Kelkar during a review of the water supply network in the city who reminded the administration of its undertaking given to the Bombay high court claiming its preparedness to tackle the water scarcity issue here.It is unfair to load the existing water supply system with more connections when existing consumers are facing water crisis. The NOVRA delegation has sought assistance from MLA Pankaj Singh, who has promised to address the issue with the Noida Authority CEO.
