Thane: The residents of Ghodbunder road complexes and parts of Thane city are once again complaining of water scarcity right after the monsoon.Residents claim that they are forced to endure inadequate water supply and to either rely on costly tanker water or packaged drinking water .Our society barely gets adequate water supply and the intermittent snag in the network further aggravates the problems leaving us without proper supply for the next two days at least. The tanker water supply is also erratic and costly. At times there have been complaints of possible contamination in tanker water which forces many to switch to bottled drinking water, complained a resident of theGB road complex. The issue was also recently highlighted by BJP MLA Sanjay Kelkar during a review of the water supply network in the city who reminded the administration of its undertaking given to the Bombay high court claiming its preparedness to tackle the water scarcity issue here.It is unfair to load the existing water supply system with more connections when existing consumers are facing water crisis. We are demanding a blanket ban on all new constructions till the issue is sorted out, Kelkar told TOI after meeting civic officials over the issue.Municipal commissioner Abhijit Bangar admitted to low supply in some parts of city and said they are working on strengthening distribution network in affected areas. — Manoj BadgeriWe also published the following articles recentlyKeshavnagar society dwellers deprived of water supply, forced to rely on tankersResidents of Florida River Bank society in Keshavnagar, Pune have been without water supply since October 3. Despite claims by the Noida Authority that all villages receive clean water, many villages still lack proper water supply.
