Busted: Flesh trade racket run by 17-year-old in Navi Mumbai hotel

Thane: A flesh trade racket allegedly operated by a 17-year-old girl at a hotel in Navi Mumbai has been busted by the police, who also rescued four women forced into prostitution, according to an official. Acting on a tip-off, the polices anti-human trafficking cell team conducted a raid at the hotel in Vashi area on Tuesday. The raid was prompted by a decoy customer being sent to the hotel, the official from APMC police station said.The accused girl, hailing from Malad in neighbouring Mumbai, would give a portion of the money earned from prostitution to the victims and keep the rest for herself, as mentioned in the FIR. During the raid, four women were rescued, all aged around 20, including one from Nepal and two from Bihar. They have been sent to a rehabilitation home. The police also confiscated a mobile phone, a watch, and cash totaling Rs 84,030, along with counterfeit currency notes with a face value of more than Rs 1.5 lakh. A case has been registered against the accused under Indian Penal Code section 370 (buying or disposing of any person as a slave) and provisions of the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act-1956, the police added.Young girls being pushed into flesh trade in Rajasthan, suspects NCW Chief Rekha Sharma
