Man gets life for raping six-year-old stepdaughter

THANE: The sessions court of Thane convicted a 44-year-old man from Mumbra for repeatedly raping his stepdaughter, he was sentenced to life imprisonment. Prosecutor, Sandhya Mhatre informed that the victim then aged six was the stepdaughter of the accused and they were residing in the same apartment in Mumbra.Mhatre further added that for six months prior to December 04, 2020, the convict repeatedly raped the victim after sending her 9-year-old brother out of the house.He also intimidated the victim saying that she would be harmed if she revealed this to anyone. He had also inflicted burns on her body. She told about the incident to her mother, who then registered a case withMumbra police station. A total of five prosecution witnesses were examined in the court. The judge accepted the prosecutions case and convicted the accused under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act and other sections of the Indian Penal Code.Man booked for raping minor stepdaughterA person in Margao has been booked on charges of raping his five-year-old stepdaughter. The incident occurred in Hubbali, and the case has been forwarded to the local police station for investigation. The incident took place on October 28 on the railway platform of Hubbali railway station. The accused not only sexually molested the child but also threatened her with dire consequences if she told anyone. The childs mother lodged a complaint with the Maina Curtorim police station when she learned of the incident.
