THANE: The sessions court of Thane convicted a 44-year-old man from Mumbra for repeatedly raping his stepdaughter, he was sentenced to life imprisonment. Prosecutor, Sandhya Mhatre informed that the victim then aged six was the stepdaughter of the accused and they were residing in the same apartment in Mumbra.Mhatre further added that for six months prior to December 04, 2020, the convict repeatedly raped the victim after sending her 9-year-old brother out of the house.He also intimidated the victim saying that she would be harmed if she revealed this to anyone. He had also inflicted burns on her body. She told about the incident to her mother, who then registered a case withMumbra police station.
