Thane: Seven paan shop owners have been arrested for allegedly stocking and selling banned gutka and tobacco products in Thane, police said on Friday. The excise department has seized nearly two tonnes of these products in the past five months. These products, which are a mixture of chewing tobacco and other substances, can have severe health consequences such as oral cancer and cardiac issues. A campaign is planned to make school premises tobacco-free and raise awareness about the dangers of these products.South Korea to ban all stock short-selling through June 2024South Koreas financial authorities have announced that a ban on short-selling will be reintroduced in the local stock market starting on Monday.
