Thane: An offence has been registered against a man for allegedly beating up his former girlfriends mother in Thane, the police said on Monday. Based on a complaint, the police have registered an offence under section 324 (voluntarily causing hurt by the use of a dangerous weapon or means) and other relevant provisions of the Indian Penal Code, an officer said.The incident took place in the Panchpakhadi area on November 11, he said. The incident occurred in a high-rise building on Ghodbunder Road. The fire was quickly brought under control by local fire officials and the disaster management team, but significant damage was done to the kitchen furniture and stored items. The injured man was rescued and taken to a private hospital for treatment.
