Fire guts 16 vehicles parked in Thane housing society; no injuries

THANE: A fire broke out in the parking area of a residential complex in Thane city, Maharashtra, on Wednesday morning. A total of 16 vehicles, including three cars, were gutted in the fire.No injuries were reported in the incident that occurred shortly after midnight at the housing society in Panchpakhadi, a locality in the city, as stated by Yasin Tadvi, chief of Thane civic bodys Disaster Management Cell.The fire ignited at approximately 12:45am on the P1 level of the two-floor parking lot of the building, which is located near the Thane Municipal Corporation headquarters. A fire engine was dispatched to the scene and successfully extinguished the flames by 1:30am, said Yasin Tadvi.The fire damaged 13 two-wheelers, charring 11 of them, and three four-wheelers, he added.The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
