KALYAN: Maharashtra chief ministers son and Kalyan Lok Sabha MP Shrikant Shinde on Thursday targeted Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Uddhav Thackeray without taking his name during a program in Kalyan in Thane district. Elections to Maharashtras 2,359 gram panchayats and 130 vacant sarpanch posts were held recently across Marathwada, western Maharashtra, Vidarbha and Konkan in which ruling parties-BJP, Shiv Sena (Shinde faction) and NCP (Ajit Pawar) performed well. Shinde said that in 2019, some people (Uddhav) "betrayed" the people for their own benefit, hence in these gram panchayat elections, "people showed such people their place". Shinde said that people sent him to the seventh position in the gram panchayat elections, even further than his (Uddhav) expectations. Shinde on Thursday inaugurated a Shiv Sena Sakha at Khoni village in Dombivli. On this occasion, the MP said whether it is Kalyan Lok Sabha constituency or Thane district, there is no shortage of funds for public development work. "If we want to win the coming municipal, gram panchayat, Lok Sabha elections, we have to increase our organizational strength. We have to take the work of the government to every house. Party workers should be ready in every house," he said, adding that peoples trust in the chief minister is increasing day by day. The results of the gram panchayat elections have shown the "increasing faith of the people in the ruling government". Some people say that gram panchayat elections are not held on any partys symbol, but "if they had won as many elections as us, they too would have talked about winning more seats like us", Shinde said. Shinde said, "You (Uddhav Thackeray) betrayed peoples mandate for yourself in 2019. The people took their revenge."
