Thane: The Bhiwandi police have booked three persons for allegedly attacking Bhiwandi-Nizampura Municipal Corporation team led by assistant municipal commissioner Somnath Soshte during an anti-encroachment drive in Bhiwandi on Wednesday. Under the scheme, customers who pay 110 percent of the outstanding amount will have the interest waived off. This will benefit approximately 50,000 consumers and is expected to waive off interest amounting to Rs 1,000 crore. The scheme will initially be in effect for one year. MSEDCL has also appointed nodal officers to address consumer grievances in Bhiwandi.Akbar Owaisi booked for threatening cop during poll meetingAIMIM legislator Akbaruddin Owaisi has been booked by the Hyderabad city police for allegedly obstructing the police and trying to create enmity between religious groups during a public meeting. This incident occurred when Akbaruddin was addressing a public gathering and was asked to wind up his speech. In a viral video, he can be heard threatening the police officer and refusing to stop speaking. Akbaruddin has four pending criminal cases against him for promoting enmity between groups and other charges. The police commissioner has stated that the law will take its course.Biker booked for promoting unsafe driving practicesA 27-year-old biker in Coimbatore has been booked for promoting unsafe driving practices on his Instagram account. The biker, identified as M Muralikrishnan, had previously been involved in an accident while performing a bike stunt. He regularly uploaded videos of his stunts on Instagram, with over 1,100 videos posted. After his accident, he even posted videos of his treatment and recovery on the platform. The police have registered a case against him under Section 308 of the Indian Penal Code and are working to temporarily cancel his driving license.
