Thane: A 20-year-old native of Madhya Pradesh was booked for allegedly assaulting and molesting a woman at Thane railway station waiting room, officials informed.According to the victim, a native of Marathwada, she had come to Thane to meet her son who studies in a local college. She was on her way back home with a relative when the incident happened.The lady was sitting and talking with her son and the relative was in the common waiting room adjoining platform number 2 at Thane railway station Thursday night when the accused allegedly started picking up a fight with them.The accused apparently under the influence of some intoxicant was disturbed by their chatting and asked them to either talk softly else leave the premises. This angered the woman who confronted the accused leading to an argument, informed a police official.The quarrel soon escalated into violence as the accused started assaulting the woman and also picked up a stick from a fellow passenger and hit her following which the complainant approached the railway police and registered a case against the man, informed a police official.
