Thane: Two held with MD drugs from Palava township in Dombivli

KALYAN: The Manpada police in Dombivli in Maharashras Thane district on Wednesday arrested two people with mephedrone (MD) drugs from the posh Palava township. The accused were identified as Aarshad Karar Khan (28) and Sadaabuddin Sayyed (28). MD drugs, also known as Meow Meow, is a synthetic stimulant drug that is banned in India. Police said Khan, a habitual drug peddler, was arrested in January by Mumbra police in a drugs case and was released from jail this month .Police said Khan who stayed in posh Palava township with his family used to lead a lavish lifestyle. Sayyed is a resident of Rajasthan and police are checking his antecedents. Sunil Kurade, assistant commissioner of police, Dombivli division said, "Our police team led by senior police inspector Ashok Honmane on the basis of specific information led a trap and arrested the duo."Sunil Tarmale, police sub-inspector, said, "We have seized 58 grams of MD drugs worth Rs 2.5 lakh."
