Thane:A 41-year-old man from the city, who wanted to sell his furniture for Rs 25,000 on Facebook, ended up paying Rs 6 lakh to a conman. The police said that the complainant works with a software company and resides in the Manpada area of Thane city.According to the police, the complainant recently posted an advertisement on Facebook about his old furniture being sold.A little later, a person contacted him and identified himself as a dealer of old furniture and readily agreed to purchase all the articles that were posted by the victim on the Facebook marketplace. The accused told him that he shall pay him Rs 25,000 and the deal was then to be closed, said a police officer. The accused sent him multiple scan codes and duped the victim of Rs 6 lakh.
