KALYAN: In view of the delay in construction of the Palava flyover, which is being built on Kalyan-Shilphata Road connecting Kalyan to Navi Mumbai, Lok Sabha MP from Kalyan Shrikant Shinde on Monday chided MSRDC officials and ordered them to speed up the work so that at least three lanes of one side of the flyover can be opened to the public by February-end.Shinde also personally took stock of the ongoing work on Kalyan-Shilphata six-lane road and Katai-Airoli Elevated Freeway, which aims to reduce the distance between Navi Mumbai and Katai (Dombivli) from of 45 minutes to just 5-10 minutes. Shinde first visited Ranjanoli Naka in Bhiwandi, from where Kalyan-Shilphata road begins. Officials there informed him that most of the six-lane work of Kalyan-Shilphata road was completed. At Palava junction, where work on the flyover is delayed due to several technical issues, Shinde said all technical issues had been resolved and one portion of the flyover should be ready by February-end.
