Ex-mayor of Ulhasnagar, 6 others booked for murder bid

KALYAN: The Kalyan taluka police have booked seven persons, including ex-deputy mayor of Ulhasnagar Municipal Corporation Bhagwan Bhalerao, for attempt to murder, rioting, conspiracy and under arms act in Titwala. On Monday, after registering an FIR, police launched a hunt for the accused who are now on the run. The others booked are Tukaram Bhoir, Ashwin Bhoir, Ashwins wife, Arvind Bhoir, Pramod Thorat and Machindra Avhad. The complainant, Shrichand Kukreja (66), a former lawyer, alleged that he had bought a land in Varapgaon area in Titwala in 1986 from Tukaram. However, Tukaram had been trying to capture the land since 2018 with Bhaleraos help. The accused allegedly sent goons twice to attack Kukrejas staff and even used arms.
