Bizman killed, two arrested for hiring henchmen

Thane: A tax consultant and his accomplice have been arrested for allegedly hiring two henchmen to kill a businessman over a monetary dispute on Friday.The accused have been identified as Bhushan Patil, 40, a resident of Rutu Enclave, and his aide Nitin Patil. The deceased has been identified Satish Patil, 55, a resident of Vartak Nagar.The incident took place late Saturday evening when Bhushan, Nitin and Satish had gone to a specific location near Anand Nagar in Ghodbunder road.Later, two persons armed with swords, came to the spot. While they brutally attacked Satish, Bhushan was attacked with lesser gravity. Later, Bhushan cooked a story that some unidentified assailants came to him and repeatedly stabbed Satish until he fell unconscious in the pool of blood. The incident was reported to the Kasarwadavali police who rushed to the spot and carried out the panchnama. Subsequently, Bhushan was made the complainant in the murder case and was questioned by the police and crime branch sleuths.The cops however, doubted Bhushans version and the subsequent inconsistencies and disparity in his statement to the cops and. He tried to play smart but was unable to hold the guilt for a long time, said a police officer. During the questioning, he broke down and confessed to the crime and told the police that the deceased had given him over Rs 1.5 crore on loan and was repeatedly asking it back. Hence, he decided to eliminate him. On Saturday evening, Bhushan invited Satish to join him to the place where he had called the assailants and had given them contract to kill him. Accordingly, they executed the murder and cooked the story which he could not hold for long.
