Varanasi: The Uttar Pradesh government announced on Sunday that the Covid-induced lockdown in the state will be relaxed from June 1 onwards in those districts that have less than 600 active cases as of May 30.m  However, weekend and night curfew will remain imposed across the state. Night curfew will be imposed from 7 pm to 7 am.

Night curfew will be imposed from 7 pm to 7 am.

What can open in eligible districts?

Shops outside containment zones will be allowed to open for five days during the week in districts that have less than 600 active Covid-19 cases. Government offices will open with 50 per cent attendance on a rotational basis. At religious places, not more than five people will be allowed at any point of time. Schools, colleges and other educational institutions will remain shut.

No relaxation for these districts

Twenty cities including Lucknow, Moradabad and Meerut will continue to be under week-long lockdown until the number of active cases falls below 600. If the number of active cases in a district that has `unlocked` rises above 600, lockdown will be re-imposed there.
