Gyanvapi case: Dist Judge court likely to deliver order on 2 applications today

Varanasi: District judge Ajay Krishna Vishvesha on Wednesday reserved order on the applications filed by Shringar Gauri worship case plaintiff Rakhi Singh seeking preservation of Hindu temple signs and restricting the number of namazis in Gyanvapi mosque and Swami Avimukteshwaranand seeking regular worship of the purported Shivling found in ablution pond of the mosque on May 16, 2022. The order is likely to be delivered on Thursday.Besides, in view of the lawyers strike, hearing on an application filed by four women plaintiffs in Shringar Gauri case (suit no. 18/2022 Rakhi Singh and others vs UP state and others) seeking preserving evidences being recovered in the ongoing Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) survey in a safe storeroom could not take place and the court fixed September 21 as next date for hearing, special government counsel for Gyanvapi cases, Rajesh Mishra, informed TOI on Wednesday.As the hearing on an application of Rakhi Singh, the main plaintiff in suit no. 18/2022, and one filed by Swami Avimukteshwaranand to seek regular worship of the purported Shivling had been completed on previous dates of hearing, their disposal was likely by late evening. But, as the court reserved its order, it is likely to be delivered on Thursday, Mishra added.Rakhi Singhs lawyer Anupam Dwivedi said that she had moved an application to seek directions to seal and preserve a certain portion of the Gyanvapi complex where Hindu signs and symbols were found during the court-mandated survey and those unearthed during the ongoing ASI survey till the disposal of the Shringar Gauri worship case, and also to restrict number of persons offering namaz.Dwivedi said that as the court could not deliver an order on it by Wednesday late evening, it is likely to be delivered on Thursday.
