Varanasi: Officials and police officials on Thursday took stock of preparations after the finalisation of Prime Minister Narendra Modis proposed visit on September 23. Joint police commissioner K Ejilearassane along with a big band of police officials inspected the site in Ganjari, where PM will lay foundation of international cricket stadium on September 23 while divisional commissioner Kaushal Raj Sharma also reviewed the preparations for final rounds of Kashi Sansad Sanskritik Mahotsava (KSSM), as its prize distribution would also be done at the same event of PM.Following spot inspection at Ganjari Ejilearassane informed TOI, With the finalisation of venue of proposed event the areas for helipad, parking of vehicles in different categories, foundation laying event and public meeting were decided on Thursday. Security and traffic plans were also prepared during the spot inspection with officials.On the other hand Sharma convened a meeting of the officials involved in conducting KSSM to review the events conducted so far and finalise district level events to be held on September 17. He said that the proposed events on September 17 would be rehearsed on Saturday. He cautioned the officials to maintain high standards in the KSSM events as PM is keeping close watch on it.Basic education officials informed that 12096 students, youths and artistes took part in 17 events at Nyaya Panchayat level and 1656 of them qualified for block level events. Of them 369 have qualified for district level event, they said adding, 22304 had taken part in zone level events and 3150 of them had been selected for next level.According to Sharma, best performers of the on-going KSSM will perform at the proposed foundation laying ceremony at Ganjari and prizes will be distributed among the winners of this mahotsava there.Sharma also discussed preparations for the Sansad Khel ahotsava to be held in 25 sports category in October. He said, The portal of Sansad Khel Mahotsava will be launched at the ceremony proposed in Ganjari. Sportsmen from Varanasi and adjoining districts will be invited to attend the event.
