CS, DGP inspect PM event venues, offer prayers at KVT

Varanasi: Chief secretary Durga Shankar Mishra and DGP Vijay Kumar camped in the city on Wednesday to review the preparations for the proposed visit of Prime Minister Narendra on September 23 to lay the foundation stone of the international cricket stadium at Ganjari and take part in other events.The CS and DGP, along with district magistrate S Rajalingam and other officials, reached Ganjari to inspect the venue where the PM will address a public meeting after laying the foundation of the international cricket stadium in the presence of many legendary cricket players, including 1983 World Cup heroes.After this they reached Rudraksh International Convention Centre, where PM Modi will dedicate Atal residential schools of the state and interact with their students virtually. The PM will also take part in the Kashi Sansad Sanskritik Mahitsavas prize distribution at the same venue.The duo also inspected the Atal Residential School at Karsada. Later, they held a meeting with the officials during which commissioner of police Ashok Mutha Jain gave a detailed presentation on the preparations for PM events at Ganjari including the public meeting, traffic plan, parking site, crowd management, helipad and others.Divisional commissioner Kaushal Raj Sharma gave details of foundation laying ceremony, public dedication of Atal residential schools, and KSSM performances and prize distribution at Rudraksh. The CS asked the officials to complete all the preparations within the scheduled time. He said, all the preparations should be made keeping the possibility of rain in view. He also asked to ensure proper sanitation, repair of roads, placing of mobile toilets and electrical safety at the public meeting venue.
