Hearing on AIM’s revision plea on Oct 31

Varanasi: The district judge court on Thursday fixed October 31 as the next date for hearing on the revision petition filed by Anjuman Intejamia Masajid (Ganvapi mosque management committee) against November 17, 2022 order of the civil judge (senior division) fast-track court rejecting its plea challenging the maintainability of the suit Bhagwan Adi Vishweshwar Virajman and others vs State of Uttar Pradesh. AIMs lawyer Akhlaque Ahmad said that the court has fixed October 31 for hearing on the revision plea filed by the mosque management committee against the decision of FTC. This suit was filed by a woman plaintiff Kiran Singh on May 24, 2022 to seek ban on the entry of Muslims in Gyanvapi complex, handing over the premises to Hindus and permitting regular puja-archana (worshipping) of Lord Aadi Visheshwar. This suit was among the seven cases, which were clubbed with 18/2022 Rakhi Singh and others vs UP state and others by the order of district judge court in April. The court was ready to play audio clips of alleged incriminating conversations between Aravindakshan and the first accused but the defense objected. The court suggested presenting the clips in a sealed cover, but the prosecution decided not to submit them yet. Aravindakshans defense argued that his client had legitimate business interests and that the transactions in his account were related to his businesses. The prosecution opposed bail, citing concerns of potential money laundering.Delhi high court to hear Mahua Moitras plea to restrain BJP MP, others from circulating defamatory content against herTMC MP Mahua Moitra has filed a petition in the Delhi High Court seeking to restrain BJP MP Nishikant Dubey, an advocate, social media platforms, and media houses from spreading fake and defamatory content about her. Moitra has also requested permanent injunction and damages. Dubey has accused Moitra of accepting bribes to ask questions in Parliament and has called for an inquiry committee. Moitra denies the allegations and wants the defendants to remove all defamatory content against her. The case is scheduled for hearing on Friday.
