2 pilgrims killed, 15 hurt as van overturns on way to Vindhyachal

Varanasi: At least two persons were killed and 15 others, including women and children suffered grievous injuries when the van they were travelling in overturned while passing through Kushiyara jungle in Lalganj of Mirzapur district on Saturday. According to reports, the group of pilgrims from Halia and Dubar areas was heading to Vindhyachal temple when the accident occurred.Local MP and union minister Anupriya Patel, Mirzapur DM Priyanka Niranjan and SP Abhinandan enquired about the condition of the injured persons at hospitals and directed the medical officials to ensure best possible treatment for the them. After taking stock at the accident site and visiting the injured persons, the DM said, A total of 17 persons were rushed to the district hospital. Of them, two persons succumbed to their injuries. Besides, doctors referred five others to BHUs trauma centre in Varanasi due to their critical condition while 12 others are being treated in the hospital. Financial assistance will be given to the kin of the deceased and the injured persons undergoing treatment. After preliminary inquiry, it came to light that around 30 pilgrims had boarded a pickup van from Halia and Dubar areas to visit Vindhyachal. Possibly due to overspeeding, the driver lost control over the vehicle when it was passing through Kushiyara forest area and it overturned, the DM said. Passersby immediately called up the police and ambulance. The injured persons were first rushed to Lalganj community health centre (CHC), where doctors referred 17 of them to the district hospital and discharged 13 others with minor injuries after giving first aid. However, two injured persons--Bhola (29) and Kanoi (45) were declared brought dead at the district hospital. Besides, five others--Shyamkali (40), Rupa (17), Kishan (8), Som (9) and Guddi (60) were referred to BHUs trauma centre.The 10 injured undergoing treatment at the district hospital are Rinki (10), Jai Devi (30), Anarkali (55), Sajan (12), Maharaji (45), Nandini (12), Akash (28), Kagaj (5), Bhagirathi (30) and Pinki (7).We also published the following articles recently2 dead, 15 injured as bus carrying pilgrims overturns in UPs MirzapurTwo people died and 15 others were injured when a bus carrying pilgrims to Vindhyachal Dham overturned in Mirzapur, Uttar Pradesh. The incident occurred when the bus lost control at 6am, resulting in a disruption of traffic on the road. The injured individuals have been taken to nearby hospitals for treatment.Training aircraft crashes near village in Pune district; pilot, 1 more person taken to hospitalA training aircraft crashed near Katfal village in Pune district. The plane belonged to a private flight training academy. The pilot and another person on board were taken to the hospital, but the extent of their injuries is unknown. The incident involved a training aircraft from the Redbird Flight Training Academy. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
