Varanasi’s first pink booth opens at Sigra

Varanasi: In view of the directive of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, establishment of pink booths under phase-IV of Mission Shakti began in the city on the occasion of Maha Navami on Monday.Commissioner of police, Ashok Mutha Jain, inaugurated the first pink booth at Sigra and said that more pink booths would be established in Jaitpura, Shivpur, Dashaswamedh, Manduadih, Cholapur, Cantt, Lohta and Rohania police station areas also by giving priority to the places near girls schools and colleges. Officials are also focusing on crime mapping to check the areas where the crime against women including sexual assault, chain and purse snatching and others took place most in recent times.Aimed at giving instant help to girls and women in case of any need, these booths will be looked after by women cops round the clock, said the CP adding, these booths will help in initiating action promptly in case of any crime against women.
