Two groups of protesters clash at BHU gate

Varanasi: Four days past the incident of a girl student of IIT-BHU getting molested on the campus, police have failed to trace the unidentified accused. Meanwhile, two groups of students clashed near the Banaras Hindu University gate, following alleged anti-Hindutva sloganeering.ACP Bhelupur Pravin Kumar Singh said investigation was going on in the November 1 night incident, but no arrest had been made in this connection so far.On the other hand, protests by different students groups of university against proposing construction of a boundary wall around IIT-BHU on BHU campus, continued at the BHU gate and some other points on the campus on Sunday.After the clash between two groups, Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishads Abhay Pratap Singh and Abhnav Mishra alleged that some activists of a leftist organisation tried to disrupted the peaceful protest by raising derogatory and anti-Hindutva slogans. When ABVP protesters opposed, the leftist activists the latter attacked them, said the duo, adding, two ABVP workers Megha and Aditi were fractured while others suffered minor injuries.
