Varanasi: Under the Fortune Suposhan Project run by Adani Foundation, Newborn Child Care Week was celebrated in urban slums like Nakki Ghat, Koniya, Nevada, Badi Gabi, Saraisurjan, Lallapura etc.Suposhan Sangini organized a programme to make lactating mothers, pregnant women and their family members understand the importance of taking care of the newborn in the community.Through rallies, group meetings and family counselling, the information was provided about Kangaroo Mother, ways to protect the child from cold, breastfeeding and their vaccination.On the concluding day of the week, a public awareness rally was organized in Nakkighat and Koniya Satti slums.
