DGP office too kept eye on Dev Deepawali crowd mgmt

Varanasi: Crowd management exercises at Ganga ghats on Dev Deepawali celebrated on Monday evening were monitored even by the DGP headquarters in Lucknow, apart from officials in Varanasi.It was for the first time when the live feed from drone cameras engaged for the monitoring of heavily crowded ghats along river Ganga during Dev Deepawali celebrations was being made available to DGP headquarters, said commissioner of police Ashok Mutha Jain, while talking to TOI on Tuesday.The live feed was made available to Trinetra Bhawans viewing centre of Smart City from where the entire citys surveillance is done with around 4,000 cameras. From this centre, the live feed was being made available on the mobile phones of the officials as well. The CP said two drone cameras had been engaged to get a birds eye view of the ghats that remain massively crowded on the occasion.
