Last rites of BJP’s co in-charge for Bihar Sunil Oza in Mirzapur today

Varanasi: The mortal remains of BJPs co in-charge for Bihar and former co in-charge for Uttar Pradesh Sunil Oza, who died due to illness at a hospital in Gurugram on Wednesday, will be cremated on the banks of river Ganga at Gadauli Dham in Mirzapur district on Thursday.Local BJP spokesperson Navratan Rathi said the last rites of Oza will be performed at Gadauli Dham on Thursday morning.Meanwhile, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, union home minister Amit Shah and several other BJP leaders, including Varanasi Cantt MLA Saurabh Srivastava, Varanasi South MLA Neelkanth Tiwari took to X (formerly known as Twitter) and condoled the demise of Oza.Oza had been active in Varanasi ever since Prime Minister Narendra Modi filed his nomination for Lok Sabha elections from the constituency in 2014.He was a two-time MLA from Bhavnagar (Gujarat) and had worked as the BJP in-charge of Varanasi Lok Sabha constituency for several years. Oza was said to be a close aide of PM Modi. During 2014 Lok Sabha elections, BJP had made him the co-in-charge for Uttar Pradesh. He was known for his work behind the scenes. The embezzlement case relates to the construction works of Kamakhya Dham, Gahmar, which was reported by the Ghazipur district tourism department in 2017. An FIR was registered, and the investigation was transferred to EOW. Avinash Chandra Mishra, the joint tourism director of Vindhyachal Division, Varanasi, filed the case at Gahmar police station in Ghazipur. The EOW is conducting further probe into the case.
