Varanasi: Illegal portions in the building of jailed mafia don Mukhtar Ansaris close aide and Bahadurganj municipality chairman Riyaz Ansari were demolished in Bahadurganj area in a joint action of district administration and police in Ghazipur district on Sunday.Talking to TOI, Ghazipur SP Omvir Singh said, Riyazs wife and former Bahadurganj municipality chairperson Nikahat Parvin is in jail in a case of grabbing job of assistant teacher in a minority institution with the help of a fake marksheet.Riyaz isabsconding and cash reward of Rs 25,000 has been announced on any information about his whereabouts. Riyaz was under police lens as by utilising terror of Mukhtar and misusing his position as the local body chairman, he had indulged in illegal activities.According to police, when the Bahadurganj municipality executive officer initiated an investigation, it came to light that Riyaz had got illegal construction in a 760 square metre plot owned by his wife in Abdulpur area of Bahadurganj town without getting the map approved, officials said. The SP said that after these facts came to light, the Bahadurganj Nagar Panchayat (BNP) planned action after which sufficient police force was provided to escort the officials of district administration and BNP led by the executive officer. This team raided Abdulpur with bulldozers and razed the illegal portions of the building.Riyaz is a close associate Mukhtar, who ensured victory of this couple in local bodys chairman elections for almost two decades. The couple came on the radar of police after the officials received a complaint against Parvins appointment and a probe was launched.Outcomes of this investigation exposed that Parvin arranged a fake marksheet to get recruited as Tahtaniya (assistant teacher) in a minority institution in 2005 and continued to withdraw the salary since then. Apart from Parvins, the acts of the then institutions manager, Najir Ahmed, and other members of the recruitment committee were found to be a criminal offence. An FIR was lodged against Parvin and other persons of management on charges of cheating by personation, forgery and criminal conspiracy. Riyaz was also made an accused on the same charges.
