Jammu Lok Sabha Election 2024: As Phase 2 polling for the 88 Lok Sabha seats across 13 states and Union Territories (UTs) is underway, a 102-year-old man showed the indomitable spirit of democracy by reaching a polling booth in Jammu to cast his vote. Despite his age, Haji Karam Din reached the polling booth in Reasi district of Jammu, leaning on his walking stick for support. He was accompanied by a family member who helped him through the pre-voting process. The presence of senior citizens at the polling booth underscores the significance of every individuals voice in shaping the destiny of the leaders and future of the country. I have voted every time. Incumbent BJP MP is eyeing a third consecutive term from the parliamentary constituency while his rival candidate is former minister Raman Bhalla. Voting in the Reasi Lok Sabha constituency began on Friday with electors reaching the booths, some wearing traditional clothes to cast their votes. The Lok Sabha Election 2024 for the 543 seats of the lower house of Parliament will be held in seven phases, starting from April 19 to June 1. The results will be announced on June 4. In the worlds largest-ever democratic exercise, over 900 million registered voters are eligible to use their constitutional right to shape the direction of the country.
