OYO releases ‘India’s Next Destinations’ forecast list; showing upcoming trends for travel destination

Following Kochi, the remaining top cities ranked in the OYO report include Agra, Mysore, Puri, Visakhapatnam, Varanasi, Udaipur and Shirdi at no 10. Haridwar is pegged at no 11, followed by Jodhpur and Digha.

Indian hotels giant OYO hotels has come out with a data driven forecast on its ‘India’s Next Destinations’ on its official website blog.

Using a data-backed predictive analysis, the OYO report offers some interesting insights about the country’s upcoming leisure destinations.

The forecast shows that around 80 percent of Indians are planning to travel with the top search is for a safe and secure travel destination owing to the Covid-19 situation in the world.

Further, 46 percent of Indian travelers are checking information related to current regulations in order to make an informed decision about traveling.

Around 56 percent of Indian travelers are looking to travel to nearby places but only through their private vehicles.

Indians visit pilgrim destination throughout the year. Well, this year will also witness the same trend. There is an upswing in the number of people willing to travel to places like Varanasi, Shirdi and Haridwar, demonstrating that faith continues to dominate the choices of many Indian families when they decide where to travel.

The report indicates that road trips to nearby and distant places are likely to be an emerging trend. For Delhiites, Jaipur and Udaipur are places they can drive down to, whereas for Mumbaikars, it can be Goa and Shirdi. For Bengaluru residents, a drive to Mysore offers a nice road trip and a break from home.
