Renault Kwid, Triber, Duster prices to increase up to Rs 28,000 from January 1

New Delhi: Renault India today announced that it will increase the prices of its vehicles -- Kwid, Triber and Duster -- up to Rs 28,000 from January 1, 2021. "The price increase is a result of the steadily increasing input costs across the spectrum, including input costs for steel, aluminium, plastics and other affiliated cost increases during the pandemic," Renault India said in a statement.

Renault India currently sells the Kwid, Triber and Duster in the country. We are expecting the automobile manufacturer to launch the Kiger in the first quarter of 2021. The Renault Kwid is priced between Rs 3 lakh and Rs 5.13 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). It gets a couple of engine options -- 0.8-litre petrol (54PS and 72Nm) with 5-speed MT and 1.0-litre petrol (68PS and 91Nm) with 5-speed MT and 5-speed AMT choices.

The Renault Triber price ranges from Rs 5.12 lakh to Rs 7.34 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). It is powered by a 1.0-litre petrol engine (72PS and 96Nm) having 5-speed MT and 5-speed AMT options. Available in the price range of Rs 8.59 lakh to Rs 13.59 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), the Renault Duster gets a 1.5-litre petrol engine (106PS and 142Nm) with 5-speed MT and 1.3-litre turbo petrol engine (156PS and 254Nm) with 6-speed MT and X-Tronic CVT options.

The Renault Kiger will be based on the CMFA+ platform, which also underpins the Renault Triber. The sub-4metre compact SUV will be first launched in India, followed by its introduction in other international markets. The Kiger might be priced between Rs 5 lakh and Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom).
